Default THIEF ALERT IN NOVA AREA!!!!

Last night me and my girl went to bed late (I always do!). At exactly 12:05am I see a champagne color 96 Honda Accord on my surrviellance cam slow down right in front of my car so when I looked out my bedroom window the car drove off slowly so I go check on my car and everything is cool. 10 minutes later they comeback from the opposite direction and they stop completely in front of my car and i beep the car twice and they sped off. So I call my boy who lives on other side of the neighborhood and said that there was a Nissan Maxima driving around with Altezza's. This is the type of thing that I am hating right now, So when the IS-F comes out at the end of this year that will be a car I am contemplating to get. So if anyones knows who this car is please keep us updated on where the car is from.

But once again its a 96 champagne color Honda Accord and there were 3 people in the car from what I saw from the cam unless there was a fourth person behind the driver.

Stay Alert Fellas!!!!

It's somewhat simple really. Don't dump an assload of money on a car without having a garage. Having your priorities in order is a theft deterrent in itself.

That's true, but there's also the old saying about "If someone really wants it, they're going to get it!"

I remember seeing a post about a guys Civic being stolen at a car meet... then there were vehicles stolen at HIN... and all the people who have their cars stolen from home. Yes, having a garage is helpful in most cases, but it doesn't mean someone can't get it.

I had a garage at my parents house when I dumped money in my car but when I bought a house and It was to expensive to have one with a garage and live in the NOVA area. And for the record I do have my priorities straight thats why I bought a home instead of living at my parents and using all my money on the car.

Agreed with both replies. It's just funny to see all the threads about stolen cars with turbos and $5K wheels/paint etc. and they were parked on the street at an apartment complex with just a DEI alarm.

People say they would never want to live in NoVa because of this. Why? Because thieves are smarter here? If you only invest 10% of your budget on security, then you probably have no right to bitch about your car getting stolen.

I can't argue with that. I think a lot of people have misplaced priorities, but it doesn't mean they deserve to go through having a vehicle stolen or vandalized. Insurance companies do give discounts on insurance for having enhanced security like LoJack..... I think that should almost be a requirement, although I believe it's probably pretty expensive. My point is that you can have your car stolen from 7-11 when you're running in to get a Slurpee, or at the grocery store. It doesn't just have to be at home. Having a garage is a form of protection, but that doesn't mean you can't get nailed elsewhere. Outsmarting a smart thief is 90% of the battle.
