Headstud stuck in engine (Diagram)
I ordered a Timsert kit for my B18C1 because it had a stripped headbolt thread.so i thought i'd repaired it but the insert came out (i think i messed up with the kit). i thought i didn't use enough loctite so i used some JB Weld so the insert would stay in there for sure. Well it didn't and to make it more complicated, i put in a metal sleeve in the hole and that is now JB Welded to the sides of the hole. (yes i'm a retard, but i need help getting this fixed)
so now i can't take out my headstud because the Timesert insert is still screwed onto the headstud and the metal sleeve is stuck and won't let me take it out.
Here's a diagram for clarification:

So what do you all suggest i do? one of my friends said to take it to a machine shop and they'd cut the headstud and drill out everything, then fill the hole with aluminum, retap it, and it'd be good as new.
what do you guys think? any guesses?

your friend has the right idea....before ya dig a deeper hole, ya might as well just have it done professionally...
ya can call these guys, they are very trust worthy and excellent at what they do...my family has gone to them for years....."The Head Shop"--phone # (757) 631-2110 but they are in va beach....

ok, i got the headstud and everything cleared out, but now i have to repair the thread.
i don't know if i can helicoil or timesert it again because i tapped it out to put the timesert in but it didn't hold. i think the tap is too big. and wouldn't a helicoil have the same problem?

you can timesert it again. did you get the real one the one that cost 400 or did you get the jergens 50 buck deal? if you get the timesert you can get the oversized one after helicoil.
i got the timesert kit off ebay. and i'm looking for a used timesert bigsert kit but the taps and drivers are all different so i can't just buy one insert, i'd have to get the hole kit.
why the hell is it $400 for 3 drill bits and a few metal cylanders
that adapter plate thingy... how much did you get it off of ebay for? do a search for my name and then look for "headbolts" they have the other kind there too since you already have the adapter plate....

I need the Bigsert one because the drill bit and tap are different. I can't use the regular Timesert kit to install the Bigsert insert.
I'm looking on some cadillac forums now for a bigsert kit because their headstuds are the same as Hondas.
oh and aren't OEM Honda headbolts 11x1.5? in your thread you said 10x1.5
I guess another thing i could do is get a bigger headstud. i might call ARP because i think they make bigger studs. i just hope i can order one individually and not have to pay the whole price.
