Outlaw Z runs 10.67 on the brakes....
Yup you heard it right..... 10.67 standing on the brakes 20 feet before the finish line... Ooops. Here's the long version...
Ran a motor pass first off to check everything and it went good. Pulled down a 1.70 60' leaving at 2500 RPM's on the brake and ran 11.72@117.6...
Okay cool. Go to run the 100 shot and decided to leave on the brake at 3500. So I let go of the brake after a good smoky burnout and the car hooked so damn hard when I hit the nitrous that I saw the entire left side of the hood right in front of my face. My spotter said the left front tire came up about 6-8 inches and the right front came up about an inch. Well when it hooked that hard it shocked the crap out of me and I dropped the nitrous button. So I fumbled for it the rest of the pass and ended up only squeezing in the beginning of first and the top of third once I picked the button back up. Results was an 11.21@119....
So third and final pass I dial in a 10.70 so even if I broke out I would be happy since it would be a new nitrous best and good enough for the top dog slot. And I'm running against a truck that is dialed in at 16.70 (Read: 6 second wait till my light starts coming down) So I'm cool with that since it'll give me a little extra time in the beams to make sure everything is ready.... So I stage her last after having some problems burning out since i pulled too far forward in the water and my car didn't want to do a burnout. So I said screw it and just dry hopped it a couple of times to make sure they were dry. I stage, put the t-brake in and bring the revs up to about 3800-4000 or so and start my wait.... Once the lights came down I let go of the brake and instantly hit the button and the n20 started a flowin'!!!! Left front came up again a good 6-8 inches and the launch felt strong... Grabbed 2nd and 3rd clean and I'm motoring up on this trucks bumper with the quickness. Once we got to near the finish line he hit his brakes thinking he was gonna break out and my natural reaction was that I thought the race was over when I saw that not realizing I had about another 20 feet to go....... Oooops...... oh well...
Though I blew the pass until I picked up this slip:
60 foot- 1.55
1/8 ET- 6.80
1/8 MPH- 102.3
1/4 ET-10.67
1/4 MPH-123.23
MPH was low due to hitting my brakes... with 102.3 in the 1/8 it should have been around 129-130 or so.....
Either way I'm stoked that this is still on the 100 shot jets and the car still has more launch in it once I get the suspension and torque arm dialed in!!!!!!
