Question Engine Managment for WRX

I have an 03 wrx, and I need help deciding on which of the engine managment options to go with, they all sound good. I have several mods already(txs turbo back, hks bov, hks intake, gfb boost control) and am getting ready in about 3 months for a new intercooler, turbo, injectors, and other goodies.

is the utec a full system that replaces the stock ecu? or allows the stock ecu to control ac and idle, while the utec controls fuel and timing?

if so i agree. otherwise look into a FAST "fuel air spark technology" branded system, SDS, electromotive TEC III, haltech, motec

i've looked over the software for all of them and can tune if you need tuner support.

Twelves and Future Prospect, Why, is UTEC the better engine management?

Future Prospect, on the suspension yes I've already done the front and rear strut bars, the anti-lift kit, and rear sway bar end links. Coil overs and new sway bars are next on the list.

hehe. money money money

But yeah...utec is where its at. Its exactly as Greaser said, its a piggy back ecu that has all the functions of a standalone and more.

it controls, boost, timing, fuel, via tps, load, and rpm. it uses hyperterminal and is text based so its very easy to read and adjust. it also has full datalogging capabilites as well as 7 different maps to choose from. knock detection/correction/threshold adjustment. www.turboxs.com that should explain it better than me. its more userprogramable and cost effective than Most other systems thats why i got it. though its pretty expensive...its definatly worth it in my opinion. You wont be dissapointed.

You should check out Microtech as well, it's a nice sounding system, very similar to Haltech from what I understand. I'm getting ready to put a LTX8 on my 91 this winter.

UTEC sounds like a piggy back Power FC.
