Default Changing Tranny fluid

When changing tranny fluid( Transmission fluid) on a vehicle specificly Honda CRX 1991, does the vehicle have to be at a certain temp befor you change the tranny fluid, and what is all needed to do change tranny fluid.. I'm thinking i'm going to have to change mine since i have to pop my cv axle out to replace some boots. please get back to me asap.. Thanks

5speed or at? the tranny can be warm/hot or cold. the fluid will drain better if its warm though. very easy to do

Warm fluid usually flows better. Just get under the car and take out the drain bolt on the transmission. What I usually do is let it drain untill its just dripping and pour some in to kind of flush it and make sure it's clean. Then just top off untill it's up to the filler bolt. Works every time.

It's an automatic so I dont need to change the tranny filter kit right?

Actually, because its an automatic you SHOULD change the filter kit
