Civic 1.5 trouble
Sup guys, I've read these forums for a bit and decided to sign up.
Ok heres the deal. I picked up a 93 civic DX 1.5L 16valve recently as a cheap daily driver. I've been working on it trying to get the problems ironed out and am looking for some ideas.
Its losing oil at a good rate, and as far as I can tell its out the back. The car bogs and bucks intermitintly at low RPM's(not always but a good portion of the time). It also does what we have labeled "fake vtec," it bogs and then in higher RPM's the car changes and screams(well for a 1.5). In this "fake vtec" it shoots some black(rich?) smoke. Other times I can see alittle white(oil?) smoke coming out but not all of the time. Its got new plugs and some other parts, and did a valve cover gasket set last night.
I know it could probably be many things but if anyone has any ideas the main thing I am trying to fix first is the boggin/bucking. Any sensors that could be causing this?
Help!

Re: Civic 1.5 trouble
Ok
Well heres a little more info anyway. The distrib timing is turned all the way in one direction(against the end at the front side of the engine). If I move it any off of that the car completely falls on its face. I don't see any leaks but its is losing probably a quart a week. I havn't noticed white smoke lately, it could have been the engine restore stuff. The bogging is different every time, sometimes its perfect, sometimes thoughout the RPM's it seems, sometimes just for a split second.
I will look into comp/leak testing.
And maybe a b16, heh.

Bump
She is still smoking sometimes. Pretty positive now that the oil is only getting burnt. Any ideas on the timing and if anything to do with that could be leading to my bogging/bucking problems? High RPM this little engine still has oomph but I don't like to beat on it.
