So how much do you think one is worth? The gas tank is empty and rusted, both of the controls are shot, both tres are rotten, he hasn't had it running in atleast 5 years so he can't demonstrate that it will run.

clean carbs, clean tank, new gas, new plugs, new oil, new battery, and i bet she starts right up. those old motors are bulletproof. the motor in my chop sat for 3 or 4 years in someone's garage, and i haven't done a thing to it, and it runs like new.
as far as what it's worth? couldn't tell you. as far as i'm concerned, nothing is worth more than what you're willing to pay for it. i wouldn't give him more than a couple hundred at most though. if you're gonna chop it, all you really need is the frame, motor, and a few odds and ends.
