I was down at the beach today for the 4th and I saw a Lancer Evo. Very nice... but tell me why the kid driving it was about 14?? it pissed me off. just wondering if anyone else saw it.

well... if he was 14, maybe he took his parents car when they werent home......

but if he was the legal age and looked young driving an evo, WHO CARES. damn it. who cares if mom n dad bought them a car. seriously. if my parents went to school, worked damn hard to get where they are today and make a badass salary and want to buy their son or daughter a nice ass car, let them.

my dad doesnt particulary make a shit load of money, but he bought my car and its paid for. its not brand new or anything, but i dont pay shit on it. maybe gas occasionally, since i also have my moms exxon card. my mom didnt want him to buy it for me, but he loves me to death and knew itd make me super duper happy. another factor his.. his childhood was one of the most shittiest i have ever heard of. he tells me and my brother both that he wants us to have things he would have never been able to have when he was young. as soon as he got out of highschool, he went straight into the army. stayed in for about 22 or 23 years. retired as an officer, and got another job working for the govt.

my point is.. dont sit there and fuckin bash kids who parents bought them their cars. you have no idea of their parents history.. or maybe the kid just got a scholarship to a great school and dad's rewarding him. UNLESS theres a kid sitting there bragging 24/7 about that shit, then by all means, talk shit about him.

Any parent who buys a sub 18 year old an EVO and just hands them the keys with no strings attached is crazy. That doesn't mean your dad is crazy for buying you a car but he didn't buy you an evo. Setting kids up with stuff that is expensive + fast is a recipe for disaster. Now if the kid earned it in some fashion then that is another matter. Some kids really do earn stuff. Most don't. I speak from experiance of having far to many kids not respect what is given to them. At that age you should be teaching teenagers responsibiltiy. That means paying for what you own. Your right about not judging. BTW, I'm 37 and my dad helped me buy my first car. I paid all the money that I owed on that car. Taught me a great deal about car ownership and responsibility.

yep, that's the one. had someone else in the passenger seat, looked like he was about the same age.
