got a 8 crx si, with a dohc zc, just got a brand spankin new distributor put it in, and started the cuz up idles ok. but when i took it for a test drive, at around 3200rpm it seems like im hitting the rev limiter and its like it cuts on and off, and then the check engine light came on with a code 4,8, and 9.....need some help please

 

4 is crankshaft position sensor
8- topdead center
9 cylinder sensor

90% sure it could be the little sensor infront of the distributor on the head

you mean the cam sensor?located on the exhaust cam?

and also i never had any of those codes until i put the new distributor on...its brand new?

 

what dizzy did you buy? you need a 88-89 teg dizzy. and when i switched my dizzy on my old zc, the plugs needed to be plugged in in a different order than the original dizzy i took off.

 

what he said. you need the 89 teg dizzy and a re-pin if you had an Si.

 

thats what i got a brad ew 89 teg dizzy, but all the wires on the new dizzy are completly diff

 

The cam sensor has 2 sensors in it and they should be the top dead center and crank position sensor

 

ok ...ya and i did have 2 wires on the dizzy mixed up so got it fixxed and workin now
