Default How do I put the spedometer cable in?

Hey, I have an 89 civic DX, with a DOHC ZC motor swapped into it, with the 88 Si tranny, and I need to know how the speedometer goes in, one of my friends pulled it out by an accident, and I can't seem to put it in right, I tried just pushing it in, either it's not facing the right way, or it's not how it goes in, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default speedo cable

Hey, it's not a screw down type, it has a little hump like you said, and has a metal clip to go around the rubber piece on the cable to hold it in. Do you know which was the hump should be facing when putting it in?

this usually works for me...i extend the wire and put that first in the tranny to make sure it is in the correct position...squeeze the clip a little to give it a little more tension...put the clip on before putting in the actual metal end...then hold on to the metal end and keep on trying to ram it in and out till the clip holds it...check to be sure the cable is sturdy in the tranny...drive and check...hth

Default spedo cable

Hey, should I spin it while it's in there, or take it out and spin it? Will I feel any kind of motion when it is in right?

you don't have to spin anything...you may want to turn the cable a little to make sure that it is in the correct position in the sensor...you shouldn't be able to turn the sensor w/ the cable....it kinda fits in...

Hey, all I need to know is what the notch is facing when in working position. Can anyone check theirs for me?

the notch doesn't matter..it can kinda go in 6(i'm guessing) different places...just kinda feel it in the tranny....extend the cable to help you feel it out...
