Hey, I have an 89 civic DX, with a DOHC ZC motor swapped into it, with the 88 Si tranny, and I need to know how the speedometer goes in, one of my friends pulled it out by an accident, and I can't seem to put it in right, I tried just pushing it in, either it's not facing the right way, or it's not how it goes in, any help would be greatly appreciated.

you'd be better to jack up the car and crawl under it...the shaft has hump in 1 spot, all i did on me dsm is spun it little by little and kept tryin to get it in...does it have a clip or is it screw down type?

Hey, it's not a screw down type, it has a little hump like you said, and has a metal clip to go around the rubber piece on the cable to hold it in. Do you know which was the hump should be facing when putting it in?

this usually works for me...i extend the wire and put that first in the tranny to make sure it is in the correct position...squeeze the clip a little to give it a little more tension...put the clip on before putting in the actual metal end...then hold on to the metal end and keep on trying to ram it in and out till the clip holds it...check to be sure the cable is sturdy in the tranny...drive and check...hth
you don't have to spin anything...you may want to turn the cable a little to make sure that it is in the correct position in the sensor...you shouldn't be able to turn the sensor w/ the cable....it kinda fits in...
