Two of the wires are power and ground for the gauge. The third one you attach to the signal wire from your O2.
Just to let you know a narrow band with just the lights is pretty much worthless, its just a light show.

As stated previously, one wire is for 12V, one is for ground, and the third is for signal from O2.
For hooking up the O2 signal, either:
(a) Tap into pin D14 at the ECU which is a solid white wire
or
(b) tap into the white wire at the O2 sensor

Tap off of the wire inside the car, then you won't have to worry about corrosion.
Narrowband meters are pretty useless though, yeah..

A wideband O2, like innovate, AEM, FJO etc... You just have to decide if you really need one or is your money better spent else were. If you don't have any kind of fuel management then its kinda pointless.
Also when picking a wideband you need to find out which one has what kind of features that best suit you. Some of them you can change your signal voltage output, some use only a Bosch O2 while others use NTK and Bosch, some have data logging for multiple channels, some don't. Start researching.
