Defective Exhaust in VA BCH
#2
I had a defective exhaust ticket in February for one of the Talons that I sold recently. I didn't even bother with court.
With the amount of the fine and the new (raised) court fees, the ticket came to $73.00
I believe the fine was 40 and the court fees and processing came to $33. I might be a little off though.

Nope,
You have the pay the court fees even when you prepay the ticket.
Sucks huh?
I've had about 5 or 6 prepayable fines in the past five years. All came with court fees intact.
You can mail in the payment, or you can head down to the courthouse and pay in person.

If you can't tell this my first ticket. I got a receipt indicating I have a silencer and I was going to take a picture of my car with a silencer on it, the cop told me that should work, the cop was pretty cool, except he gave me a ticket. If I do get away with paying for the ticket, do I still pay court fees? I just want to know is it worth going or just paying the ticket.

I wouldn't. Most of the traffic court judges are anal because they are so low on the totem pole and like to flex their authority. Once I went with documented evidence from an ASE mechanic showing that my exhaust was withing legal standards. The judge refused to look at it and double fined me.
I would just pay if I were you. It doesn't hurt your driving record, so no big deal.
