My pistons and rods don't mate up so....
Yeah ive got a problem and a idea in the head. I recently just purchased a set or ITR pistons and a set of Eagle rods and the rods dont clear the piston. SO i can either send them back, sell them while i have them, or modify them. im leaning more towards modifing them. My idea is to take the rod to a machine shop and shave of a little at the top of the rod so that itll clear, but if i do that will it shorten the life and quality of the rod or no? (i mean its a forged rod so it cant do to much right?) Plus the pistons came with wrist pins but no snap rings (where in the hell do i get those?) im in a hole that i wanna get out of now....... help much?

iirc, honda wrist pin is a press in pin, and the rods should be a floating pin.
also trimming the bushing in the rod will not harm it, well if taken to a reputable machine shop. Abacus modded mine, tuner toys h-beam rods into vitara pistons.

the wrist pin fits in both parts, i would just need a snap ring (hopefully) if i were to get aftermarket pistons what should i go with? im hearing wiseco or JE are good choices to go with
