So i have tasted various cuban sandwiches in the area, and all have been Being cuban myself and tasting the real thing in miami when i was 13...i have been craving one forever.

Anyone know of a place around here. It needs to have real buttery cuban bread, shredded pork and flattened til crispy with plantains on the side

The major issue i see are restaurants using french bread rather then cuban bread and ham rather then pulled pork =T So its not whether im in miami or not, but who is using the correct method and ingredients.

Carribbean Grill on the corner of Lee Highway and Washington Av. (think, across the street from the new Chevy Chase Bank where Friendly's used to be) makes amazing cuban food. they use ham though, not pulled pork. they have pulled pork sandwiches which are good too. Theyve been rated by washington post and some other magazines/newspapers.
