Battery or alternator?
I went to go start my teg today and the car was dead. I jumped it and the car drove fine for like 30 minutes. I left for about 6 hours and now the car is dead again.

quick test for the alternator, jump the car, while its running disconect the negative cable on the battery. if it still runs then the battery is the cause. if it dies then the alternator is shot

Re: Battery or alternator?
measure the voltage across the battery while the car is off. measure it again when the car is running. if it shows a higher voltage potential while running, then your alternator is working. If it shows a significantly higher voltage potential while running, then your alternator is working very well. If this is the case, your battery is at fault. If it voltage is lower when the car is running, you're alternator is draining your battery and that's your problem. you should be able to measure all of this at idle engine speeds.

Re: Battery or alternator?
to me sounds like your battery, if it was your alternator i dont think the battery would have lasted 30min worth of driving without it getting a charge but i could be wrong.
just take your car to autozone pull your battery and have them test it, if its bad buy a new one if its good buy an alternator.
