Default Harrisonburg Scene

Is there much of a car scene in Harrisonburg? Any clubs, meets, cruise-ins etc? Looking for any car types, import, muscle, 4x4 etc. I usually go north towards Winchester or east towards DC, but I am looking for a different scene.

Thanks,

There was at one time, but it has seemed to taiper out over the last like 4 years. Still a lot of fast cars and a lot of people working on shit, but no one ever meets up to hang out like the old days....used to be anytime you were looking to anyone you just had to ride by the McDonalds on the corner of Resevoir and Carlton and there was always someone there or at the parking deck near Klines Ice Cream latenight...but once again, not much anymore....still a lot of fast shit around though. And every so often a few of the old heads will meet up and ride over to C-ville or Fredricksburg, but other than that, this town has kinda died. If you want to chance it you can ride to elkton, always a lot of muscle cars there and a few imports....but take that trip at your own risk unless you are with a "guide" hahaha

LOL, there's pretty much no import scene in the 'burg anymore...save for the old heads, like 1PhatLS said, and most of them are getting tired of it/having kids. I attribute it to the "Fast & Furious" generation growing up. (Anyone who's reading this, don't take that in offense. I was there too at one point.)
As far as 4x4's and muscle cars go, I have a few friends that go Jeepin' every now and again and at this time of the year, the muscle car guys are tryin' to get in a couple of more cruise-in's before winter sets in and their cars have to go into hibernation until spring.

Depends on what kind of a scene your looking for. If your looking for a streetracing scene or something of that sort than I can't help you. If your looking for a group of car guys who enjoy wrenching, autocrossing, track days, drinkin and hanging out than there is Madison Motorsports. We're a group of JMU students (around 20-25 of us) who participate in legal motorsports related activities and just generally hang out. We meet every other week formally but have lots of informal get togethers. We are not exclusive to JMU students at all, that's just where we are based. We welcome anyone who wants to join/participate to do so. Hit me up if it sounds like something your interested in.
