Talking FWD - RWD

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get back into the drift scene, this time.. legally.

The only question I have is.. which car to choose?

Bang for the buck.. really. I don't really care what it looks like as long as it performs.. and it isn't a rust bucket

I was thinking an S13 coupe for the uber-cool HUD. If not, an S14 for less wear on the body and less chance of rust.

I love the AE86, Trueno or Levin.. preferably Levin hatch. The only problem is.. these things are beat to hell and back, usually. They are very well balanced and reliable since they make very little torque. Parts.. are.. well.. scarce.

I used to play with my 89 Conquest Tsi when I had it a few years ago.. but those things are extremely unreliable and HEAVY. SEXY as hell though with that wide body and AMAZING suspension.

Miata.. well.. you all should know the answer to that.

Dream car.. Skyline R32 GTS-T.. the bank roll won't allow that.. just DREAMING!

So if any of you sliders have any positive feedback on this.. well, drop a line.

I've got time to find the right one.. I'll be kicking it on a bike for a while pinching those pennies and this pony will be strickly for the track.

Thanks,
Enigma

RWD, 2000lbs, great suspension. Not to mention reliable. I'de say that is the right answer.

Get a hard top and a proper cage... then they can STFU...

Get it black though... otherwise it looks a little weak :P

I've driven them before.. they aren't very comfortable (I'm pretty tall, almost 6'). The suspension was OK.. the real problem is the size of the vehicle. The ass is too short for me to hold a decent drift.

They are small, and light.. the engine makes decent torque for what it is.. but I just don't like them.

If I could make my Teg RWD I'd do it

Thanks,
E

Too much money in that converstion to be worth it.

Drift trucks are sweet though.. a Nissan Harbody SOHC-T are sweet in a drift..

guy on the forum is selling an 88 RX-7 he only wants about 350 for it, ship the motor off for a rebuild and you're only looking at about 1850... and the body is in good condition...
