Default overheating question.

Ok I have a 93 civic coupe 1.5. My car was overheating for a while and I replaced the thermostat well it helped none. The coolant is going back in to the overflow and all you hear is bubbling. I replaced the radiator cap yesterday drove it like 15 miles some on 95 doing 70mph and all the car never overheated and I have been flushing the radiator today and been driving it to try and get it hot. Do you think the cap solved it or am I just not driving enough. Also it is cooler out now than when it first started this overheating issue.
