Me and a friend have just bought a non-turbo 89 RX-7 and we also just bought a JDM FC 13b turbo motor. The motor swap comes with the motor, tranny, turbo, intercooler, ecu, harness, alternator..... basically everything.

Is this going to be a straight pull out put in type swap or is there going to be some little things to change/add/take out?

Input is much appreciated.

Just read through all the stickies in the 2nd gen forum.

 

There's a lot you have to change from what I've heard. I think the entire drivetrain is different and therefore it's not just a straight motor swap.

 

well so i learned something new...

the motor we bought is for a 89-92 FC

we have a 88 FC i just found out.


so i talked to a Rx7 nut and he said that motor isnt compatible unless you re-arrange the body harness. Is there like a jumper harness or something you can install to make that 89-92 motor work in a 88?
