Default Miata owners (need advise)

I'm thinking about getting an early 90's miata for daily driving and auto-x duties.

What years are best? ie.. engine, suspension, weight.
Common problems? engine, suspension, body.
Budget would be $4k max.

Any good forums to lurk around and find out more information of these cars.

I'd get a '94+ car. The BP (1.8L) is a nice upgrade over the B6 (1.6L).

thanks for the sites. I just did a quick search on the miata.net and I guess the best 90's miata to get is the 94-95. No odbll and it comes with a 1.8. Time to start searching.

You must need a lot of space. I'm 5'10" and weigh 220 lbs and was just fine.
