Default Looking for a 4 wheeler / quad / atv

I'm looking for a 4 wheeler. Something inexpensive, under $1000 for sure. Prefer something that doesn't run, or is in peices, as I plan to tear it apart anyway for a 'custom' paint job during the winter. Anything is ok, 200cc up prefered. Honda 250x/300ex move to the front of the line as I have parts left from my last one

Just a piece of advise, you may want to order different color plastics rather than custom paint. Custom paint on a quad doesn't last very long. Maybe a few months for it gets all beat up.
I've got two banshees and two 400exs for sale all with built engines if you can spend more money.

Good luck

I planned on getting some silver plastics (won't show the scratches as bad) and paint the frame a metallic blue and the engine high temp gloss black with the endges of the cooling fins sanded to bare aluminum for a contrasting look. But yeah I would never paint the plastics, thats just plain ghetto.
On a side note, I found a 250x in northern Va that I will probably trade the kx125 for. Just needs a new piston and bore/hone.

Still open to offers! (would rather find a 300ex or blaster)

be careful with a bike blown up. you never know what you are getting into. you may need to resleeve it and then other problems arise. i'm rebuilding my 400ex right that already had a 440 kit in it and somehow the cyl. wall got out of round and had to resleeve it, then a bolt going into the head didn't seal tight from being reused so many times and leaked oil so now i have to tear the head off again to get to it, and finally it didn't stay running due to carb/airbox problems that were fine before. a big mess. so be careful of what you may get yourself into.

Not really worried about it. I think I like working on them more than I like riding them, thats why im looking for a project. I have rebuilt many engines, dirtbikes and quads too. Granted 2 stroke is easier
