Default WTH--Want to Hire VW VR6 Guru

Been working slowly on a 2.0 auto to vr6 5speed swap in a 97 Jetta for a year or so now. Tired of the somewhat blind swap (I had barely changed oil prior to this); can't seem to get guided help in person. Hoping there's some Vdub guys in the 804, 757 that would be willing to help finish this sucker so I don't have to sell or part it out. Price of help can be worked out later, or just pm an estimate. Price of travel, food, and such considered. Project's in Gloucester, White Marsh area. Thanks.

Done
-2.0 out
-VR6 is in
-Fresh head gasket
-Black Forest Industries .5 motor mount set, G60 trans mount
-Bosel header
-VR6 Proline Springs in upfront
-Ecu and main harness in
-Shifters swapped out already

Needs
-Remaining wiring (fusebox, lighting harness) put in
-Clutch pedal and cable finished
-Cooling system back in
-Upper motor items installed (intake mani and such)

Pics should tell the rest...

As she sits now, neglected....

If you can, or know someone that can physically assist in the running state of the swap, send them my way. Much Appreciated.--Donald

Good luck! What did you do with the ABA motor you pulled.

Its sounds like you have finished the worst part of the swap? Any reason why you don't finish the rest? On your list below, the wiring is about the only brain work. I have done 1 (ONE) vr6 swap on a mkIII 4-door golf. I could do it, but it wouldn't be cheap. There is nothing worse than finishing someone else's project. Truth be known.

If you decide to part it, how much would you want for the VR6 stuff, i could give you a complete ABA setup to put back in your car, so it would be drive/sell-able at least.

Yeah, the labor intense stuff is done. Doubt I would put an ABA back in (this is def. my last swap). Don't know whats reasonable to sell the swap for...I paid 850 over a year ago.

I just really got in over my head with this. I bought the jetta for 800 with the intent to buy a replacement trans and drive it to school; its a clean car and was a strong runner. But the price of the swap compared to a used trans was looking fairly close so I took the bigger bite, one now I can't finish alone. My brother and pops are nissan/subaru nuts so they're hands off with the wacky german stuff.

PM me a figure if you'd really be willing to do it...I can't say its terribly messy but not the most straight forward. It'll be hard for me too now that I haven't touched it in a while.
