so my boy just got a ticket yesterday. He was on 495 and it was jammed at around 830am so he got onto 66east to get off at rt7 ( works in tysons) gets pulled over and the cop says 66 in the morning is hov everylane

And now he ended up with a hov ticket. WTF I heard about this a while back but theres no signs that says anything. Can he fight it!? State popo is wack

 

There are signs but you have to find Waldo for them. Literally. The route 7 ramps are common spots to get pulled over. One time I pulled over to the side of the ramp before I could get a ticket. Of course the cops didn't see me. I walked towards 7 and it was awkward. I had a friend drive me to my car when HOV time was over.

Your friend has been caught and theres nothing to argue over.

 

There are a few signs stating that the exit to tysons is HOV only. There is a huge sign right underneath the exit. He shouldve taken the other one meant for single commuters.

Yeah I can tell you all about HoV on 66. Just don't bother trying to do it, they sit cops on on/off ramps so there's no way you can avoid the tickets.

 

Yeah cops sit at the exit ramps and just give people tickets, happened to me I talked them out of a ticket though

 

going towards dc is hov only in the morning on 66 and leaving dc in the after noon is hov only on 66 i drive it every day.

 

So wait, ALL the lanes are HOV or just certain exit lanes?

 

all of the lanes going into the dc area are hov in the morning and all the lanes leaving dc on 66 are hov in the evening and none on the weekend

 

heading to dc right before the 495 exits where it becomes two lanes is hov and leaving dc is hov till 495 unless your going to the "airport"
