what would you think of this?
Ive been throwing around a project in the back of my head for quite some time now, and was wondering what you guys thought about it. I'm not basing my decision off of other people's opinions, I just want to hear them.
Anyway, I used to own a 91 4 door civic 5 speed and fell in love with the car. BUT i sold it due to deployment so i am in search for another one.
But this time I want to do something different to it. i basically want to take the drive-train from a 1st gen AWD eclipse and shove it into that body.
I know its going to take a hella amount of modification and I'm really good at fabricating shit out so its actually something that would be possible for me.
anyway, just wanted to know what yall think!

Why not?
think about it. As light as the civic is, the 4g63t and the AWD drive-train would make that car a lethal little bastard.
I just want to do something someone hasn't done before. i know there are factory AWD civics and some people have converted them using the element's drive-train but i wanna be different. Thats all. I don't see anything wrong with that.

i wouldnt really be worried about selling it but I see where your coming from.
here is an idea.
honda cr-v is a B18 with an awd tranny etc.
will require modifications, but not as extensive.
btw, i only know of 2 awd hondas myself, so thats gotta mean something about the swap

but the CRV tranny is also heavier than the mitsu and its transaxle is geared towards off-road capabilities as well.
And i know the swap would be difficult as all hell, but everybody thats ever done a crazy ass swap had to start with a crazy ass idea right?
When I think about what you just said I LOL to myself.
