Boxed in by Officers at ODU, something sketchy..
So, honestly, I wonder if these guys are even real officers. They were in street clothes and leather jackets. One showed me his badge the other didn't. What I failed to do was call it in and see if they were indeed officers. Their car was an unmarked dark red/maroon 4 door sedan. It was either a Ford or Chevy, never really put attention towards it. Possibly a Taurus.
The "officers" who said they were detectives were 1 white male early 30s and 1 black male who was same age. The white officer had his detectives badge hanging on a simple chain around his neck. Never saw the other badge from the second guy. Again, I screwed up on that, should have asked to see it.
The story:
I was sitting in my car at the Larchmont parking lot waiting for practice. I was 30 minutes early to warm up and screw around. While sitting there, I had my hoodie on with the hood up and my sunglasses. Car has tinted windows so sure I could look shady. Anyway, I watch this maroon car pull in and swing around me. They park 5 spaces away stare at me then leave a few minutes later. A minute later they swing back around from behind me an circle to the front of my car. Driver is staring at my license plate and just about smashes into me. His mirror was hanging over my hood, needless to say I just about flipped out to that. They disappear for a few more minutes, then come back and park perpendicular behind me. Effectively blocking me in the space from behind, mind you I could just gun it and go over the mini barrier thats in front of me. But my bumper would no longer be attached.
Act 2:
White officer approaches driver door, other comes to passenger. Watching both in my mirrors I double checked to make sure my doors are locked and crack my drivers window enough to hear him speak. I asked him what he wanted. Said they had numerous cars being broken into at the lot over the past weeks and I looked suspicious. They noticed I didn't have a school parking pass and wanted to see my school ID. Which of course is in my secondary wallet, which I left at my house. I informed them my wallet was in the trunk and I would retrieve it. Took out my key went to the trunk and gave him my drivers license. He asked what building I lived in while the other officer checked out my car. By checking out I do not mean searched. He was looking at my exterior the whole time. Anyway, after seeing my trunk only carried my equipment they thanked me and went to leave. The black officer then turned around and told me he "liked what I have done with the car and black rims on black paint looks awesome" I told him thank you.
I did investigate this a little bit when I got back. Have a buddy with the ODU newspaper who is an editor. Asked if they had any notification about upping police cruising or just a noticeable increase in thefts. He had not heard anything about ODU asking Norfolk police to do their own investigations but he did make note that theft has increased alot this year.
So I don't know, these guys just seem real sketchy to me. Anyone been questioned by them or someone else doing the same bit?
P.S. Yes, I know thats really really long. And, no I will not make cliff notes, go fuck yourself.

i had something similiar happen to me when i was younger. A few of us were loitering in a parking lot listening to music when an early 40's white male came up and told us to leave. I believe i was rude, or told him to go to hell or something and got back in my car. He proceeded to follow me to my car, reach in and try to pull me out, while telling me he was f.b.i and to get out. I asked to see a badge which only made him angry. After it turned into a near fist fight with him and me and 3 of my friends he got back in his car and dipped. We saw where he went and called the police. To make a long story short, he was arrested for impersonating a federal agent, which is either a felony or federal offense (police also found out he was drunk at the time) We were not summoned to court because he also tried telling the police he was a federal agent at first, so they went off the officers statement.
Hope this wasnt the case for you.

So do I.
Sung, I have met you before. It was last semester though when we were having large parties of beer pong. Big Pat is who I speak of, the man of mystery and Apple Martinis.
I knew you guys were in to cars as I have had a few conversations but never realized you were on here. I have been on since DragVA but stopped using my old name since it was my actual last name.

There is a maroon Chevy Malibu used by ODU as an unmarked car.
It has the lights in the grille, back window and rear views.
Aside from that, I don't know. I'd almost say that you could stop by the university police department and give them their descriptions and report their activity as suspicious.

hey i read about ODU police workiing with the Norfolk police to help with the car break-ins now. Not sure if the guys you saw were real cops but i would def. question if random guys walked up to me. I tryed getting the artical to paste it but couldnt find it but i know i saw it on wvec.com
I do know that bicycles have increased in theft lately. ODU is at fault for these increases though. If they would have properly budgeted and spent wisely they wouldn't have to allow kids with a 1.4 GPA into the damn school. And of course with the influx of retarded ass kids we have an influx of theft.
I can tell you who's doing it and they're not driving around campus in cars. WHen I went to ODU I used to see a grown african american man riding down the street south of odu on a little girls bike (yes, with tassles hanging from the handles) looking into each car window as he rode by. I didn't witness him break into one but then again I didn't stand around and watch him the entire time.
