s14 sr20-det problem
I have a s14 sr20-det engine swap in my 240sx but the maf I have is for a s13 sr20-det. The car back fires, studders, jerks really bad at full throttle when i am over 3100 rpms. but when i am not at full throttle i can take the car up to about 6000 rpms with no problems. will getting a s14sr20-det maf sensor fix this problem. i know the s13 and s14 mafs are different but will it make that problem go away. i was told that it should fix the problem but i want more input before i invest in something that may not fix the problem. also I am still running the stock fuel pump if that makes a difference

Re: s14 sr20-det problem
i mean technically it should fix it because the s14 sr runs a t28, which would require more air and fuel then what is on the t25 that is on the s13 sr

Re: s14 sr20-det problem
The problem you have is that the S13 MAFS gives off a different voltage than the S14 MAFS. So the ECU is not receiving a proper signal from the MAFS. Getting the proper MAFS will mean it is sending the proper signal to the ECU. The only other way to bypass your problem is to install something like an ApexI SAFC or HKS AFR. These will convert the voltage of mismatched MAFS and allow you to run just about ANY MAFS on the market with your ECU (ie Z32, Skyline, Q45, Subaru, etc).
