Pintle Caps on Injectors

Pintle Caps on Injectors
I have a set of DSM 450cc injectors, and 2 of them are missing the pintle caps. I was wondering if these effect the spray pattern and if I need to find 2 replacements, or if they have anything to do with the seal. I thought that they just protected the pintle, but I need some help. Please and thank you! Also, if they are necessary, where can I find them, do they just snap on?
