Default 1969 GTO - Need traction! Help!

Alright, heres how it goes. I've got a 69 GTO, I need traction. I'd like for the wheels to not be ONLY useful in the dry weather, and at least work somewhat in the imperfect weather.

I want it to look muscle, look hot, but be 100% legal. I need traction badly. Hell, I start off in second gear, trying to get a racing launch, and do nothing but spin... I shift from third to fourth on the highway, and get WAY too much spinning (can we say - UNSAFE?)

What are my options, and what are my most COST EFFECTIVE options? Trying not to spend thousands here...

Nitto 315/x/x drag radials & a posi will help.

what gear are you running? maybe youve got a little too much gear in it for not having slicks?

What kind of suspension do you have in the rear?
Try some drag shocks, about a 50/50 or 40/60.
Put on some traction bars or ladder bars.
Run some BFG drag radials.
Also, is it AT or MT? What ratio of gears do you have?

Blasphemous hows the Olds comin along? man i came across a friend of mine's uncle's cutlass with a big block in it the other day. its sitting in his backyard rusting itself to death. makes me sad.

Well, I unfucked the wiring to the altenator. So, it's working right and not killing batteries now. The motor's just killing starters, so I got a Power Master high torque mini-starter. That's going in today. I've also re-ran the lines for the air suspension so that each shock has it's own line and mounted them in the trunk. I'm not worried about putting in real shocks because I can get a full 4-link setup for about $250.
What year is that Cutlass and if it's a 71-72, would he sell it?
