Last time I heard a "hmmm" it was the bearings.

Good luck figuring it out.

what kind of tires?more agressive peformance tires usually make more noise.is the car out of alignment?have you tried putting a different set of wheels on it to see if it goes away?
hard to say just from your description, could be a wheel bearing or any number of other things too.

could be hub bearings or tire wear

sounds like hub bearings, could be something as simple as needing a balance/alignment though.

Ditto on wheel bearings being (in my experience) the most common reason for hum... but I've also experienced that problem with tires that were either aggressive tread patterns, or unevenly worn.

sound like wheel bearings to find out drive car straight and rock the steering wheel back and fourth and see if the noise changes

Wheel Bearings make a very noticable groan. Turning the wheel isnt going to make any difference.

Best way to check bearings besides the tell, tell noise is jack the car up and grab the wheel at the 12 & 6 o'clock position and try to tilt the wheel in and out. If the wheel moves more than 1/8' then the bearing has gone to shit.

If you are local to the Pulaski area I can check it for you.

Trust me on this, I have done at least 400+ alignments in the last few months.
