Default Can anyone help me mod a PSP slim?

So here's the deal... I want to run custom firmware on my PSP slim.

I'm currently running 3.80 OFW. I would like to get it to 3.80-m33-5 if possible.

I have a friend with a PSP phat that has the 1.5 kernel and just went up from 3.51 m33 -> 3.80 m33. We tried to make a pandora battery with his original phat PSP battery, but every app we tried to use just resulted in a "Game could not be started" error on his PSP. I didn't really want to open his battery up to break the pin (hard mod), so we just gave up.

If anyone in the area could help me out and know what they're doing, that would be great. Free beer in it for you.

I just did some quick research with it.

You've got to open up the battery and remove the pin from one of the IC's on it? And that's all?

It seems like you flash the card on the pc, then pop it into the PSP and the modded battery drops it into a failsafe or something?

Doesn't seem too difficult, and I modded Xbox's back in the day.

Let me do some reading with it and see what I can come up with.

^^ that's what you're trying to do? But with the 3.80 firmware and not the 3.71 firmware?

Hey Joe!

Yeah, we are trying to soft mod an older PSP phat battery. We didn't have much luck. I figured I would see if someone around here still messes with PSP's and would have a pandora battery & mem stick on hand.

I have a brand new keg of delicious hefeweizen on tap in the garage that you are welcome to if you stop by.

Thanks.

Joe... let me know if you have any more luck with your battery. I'm bidding on one on Ebay as well. I may also just buy a new battery from Best Buy and hard mod it as a last resort.

you need a magics stick and a pandoras battery for your fat psp (not sure about the slim)
you can make the stick and battery yourself (dont be stupid and buy one on ebay)

and if its 3.80 g/l trying to down grade!

your best bet is to try to find a fat psp with 1.5 and start fresh from there!

Right. My friend, Joe (TheJoe-Y88), has an older fat psp with 1.5/3.80. We tried for an hour making his battery into a pandora. We had no luck.

I'm hoping to find someone around the 757 that already has a pandora battery and memory stick that can help me out. Plenty of free beer for them if they can come by and know what they are doing.

Alright... finally got my PSP modded. I hard modded my slim PSP battery, bought a new battery from Best Buy, bought a used ms stick from Cool Stuff, then put the 3.80-m33-5 stuff on the ms stick.

Everything worked like a champ, and I now have a modded PSP.
