Default Detail Shops

Anyone know of any detail shops around SW VA that will do the deororizing fogging thing? I found a car that I'd like to pick up, but it has a smoker's odor. It's not terrible, but it's definitely there.

i can't recommend a shop, but in the past i've rented a Rug Doctor and used the upholstery attachment to clean all the fabric in the car.got the smell out,and i'd say for less money than a shop would charge too.

What was the odor? Smoke? I'm waiting for Micah to reply to this, I've read that BMW's on-site detailing services have ozone generators that will actually destroy them. Micah, does Hammersley have anything like this?

Eric,
Woodings Detail shop would be your best bet. We used to have an ionizer at Hammersley, but I don't think we have it anymore. It worked ok, but after a while usually the smell came back. Just depends. When my suby was in the shop for a few weeks with the windows down some of the smoke from the mechanic must of settled in it, because ever since last year it smelled like smoke inside, you could really tell in the hotter months, all the odor seemed to creep out! It sucked haha, but ohwell. Take it to Woody, he does great work - not sure if he can get the smell out though.

I've read that places who have very large ionizers and do 4-5 treatments with some chemical additive can permanently neutralize odors in cars that have been heavily smoked in. I guess I'll give Wooding's a call... is that on Brandon?

Yep, that's what I thought.

Anyway, I'll give them a call tomorrow. If they say they can get the odor out, I've got myself an M, I do believe.

Don't say I didn't warn you about the VANOS

Hopefully they can get the smell out. It may come back in the summer though, like what happened with my Suby.

What's the big deal on not getting it checked out by a mech before you buy it? Trust me, thats the last thing you wanna be cheap on.
