Is there a stencil or a special technique to moon cutting? I'd like to make moon cuts in my valve cover and timing cover while the motor is still out of the car. The reason being is, I have adjustable cam gears and it'd make it easier access when getting tuned. Let me know or if you can do it I will pay! Thanks!

 

Get a dremel and some cardboard. Cut out half circles, trace them on the valve cover, and cut.

Get fran to do it. I've seen many he has done and all of them turned out spot on.

Find an object that's the right size, like a glass or a roll of tape or whatever, and trace that. Quick and easy. Use a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade to rough it out, then end with a Dremel or die grinder.

 

whatever you do, make sure you get all the metal shavings out of the valvecover. Rinse, and rinse again.

 

Just mask it off. I'm assuming you're going to remove the valve cover first, so just tape paper or plastic over everything but the timing belt cavity.
