Tidewater Sports Car club is hosting an autocross school at the Old Ford lot on Campostella Road and Atlantic on April 12/13, 2008. The school will run from 8am to 5pm both days.

The first day of the school will focus on the various elements of an autocross course: slalom, skidpad, offsets, increasing/decreasing radius turns, etc... Instruction will be provided.

The second day of the school will be timed and untimed runs through a course with and without instruction. Expect to get a bunch of runs as the event is limited to 30 students.

 

good for someone getting into autox, or even a vet.


The seat time alone is well worth it.

 

im guessing you need to bring your own car?
i dont have 1 at the moment and it'd probably be a bad idea to race with my inventory.

might have to sign up for this. Should help me get better since I was pretty crappy last year.

On the noise level thing I wouldn't suppose my 95 240sx with headers and straight pipe to a big fart can muffler will be to loud. Iv'e done 2 events at ACU-4 and heard nothing about the noise level of my car. Any help would be appreciated.

 

well, there is a neighborhood on the other side of the fence. use the judgement call that if you piss off the neighbors, and we lose the site, we will burn your car with you in or out of it pending.




j/k,but in reality, the club not looking like a nuisance is #2, next to safety of course.

 

hey guys what will we need to bring to the event i.e. helmet, roll bar, harnesses?

 

^^^ Did you get signed up??? They only had 30 spots and because of the location its my understanding that unless they have your name down you will not be allowed to enter the site.

Now if you have registered a safe car, a helmet if you have one, and a good attitude is all you will need.

 

yep, im already registered. do you know where i could get a helmet, or do they have helmet rentals?

 

We have loaners, but not a ton. If you can procure/borrow a helmet, I would.
