well i decided that north dakota sucks so im planning to move to Virginia within the next couple months.

what do people know about apartment life around the alexandria area?? i wanna be able to have a garage if possible. the place i live now has a one stall garage and an underground space as well.

ALSO want to know how the "car scene" is around that area?? i know a few people in the staford area that are pretty cool, but i dont want to associate myself with people that are asshats like the people up here

just trying to get a idea of what to expect. thanks

 

not sure how i would rate the car scene but theres a lot of enthusiest that you'll want to meet and some you don't. Apartments are expensive so be ready for that.

 

car scene has died down some. early 01-05 or so it was pretty good but now has chilled out alot. cops are terrible about it too.
living in this area is fairly expensive.

 

i moved from nova over 10 years ago and am thankful i've never had to return

I can't spend that much to sit in traffic, just not worth it to me.

Good luck getting an apt with a garage - hopefully the new job pays top dollar. If you can deal, it's pretty and lots of hills.

if you want an apartment w/ a one-car garage

you will be looking at $2k+/month

 

that and woodbridge/manassas. Since the economy went to crap alot of houses dropped down to about 300k. which is pretty cheap for this area. A 1 floor house with a covered parkin area/garage. but thats in the north springfield area. meh, good luck.

alexandria is not the central spot for thieves..they are EVERYWHERE..well not in Prince william anymore but you get the point.
