Looking to check out some handguns before I purchase one. Anyone know where some places are around here? I was thinking of purchasing a pistol from gunbroker.com but I would like to get a good feel of the gun before I actually purchase it.

Short trip down I-95 from NoVA in the area an exit above I-295/I-95 north of Richmond there is Green Top (www.greentophuntfish.com), Gander Mountain (www.gandermountain.com they can also ship/receive for $35 or free from store to store), and Dick's Sporting goods all within a few blocks of each other. Green Top is best on price, Gander Mountain on locating the one you want if used is okay as they have an extensive database and network of stores with an impressive used firearm inventory.

Quantico Arms in Woodbridge right next to BJ's has some quality pistols (among other weapons). They are all, if not mostly Military and/or Law Enforcement weapons. Staff is extremely knowledgeable. Since Shooter's Paradise burned down there isn't really a place you can go rent one to shoot and see how you like it. Just my .02.
