Burning rubber smell
Whenever I really get on the gas or when I'm idling I smell burnt rubber. It smells exactly like I just did a burnout. I checked the belt and that is fine. I'm not sure what else to look at?
Not really. People are always telling me to go lower... But I get where you're going with that question, and that isn't something I thought about yet. I have been running the same suspension setup for over a year, and went with wider tires about 6 months ago. I never had any clearance issues, but my struts are getting worn out so maybe my car is a little lower than before. I don't hear any rubbing issues unless I'm braking hard and turning and the tires hit the plastic inner linning on the fenders on the fronts.
Are you definate on the rubber smell? No other smells you could be confusing? Check all belts and make sure nothing is touching the exh mani. Otherwise if you're close to the beach area i wouldn't mind taking a look at it.
I'm 100% sure it isn't the belt
I'll have to take a look at it when I can get it on the rack at work that lifts the whole car up and not from the frame so the suspension can't drop. I did get an alignment done a few months ago from when I wrecked my car. I've been meaning to check it myself but haven't had time.
