Default Main Relay or Fuel Pump?

My car stopped working on me last nite (the car is a civic). I have been driving around with my check engine light coming on every so often and giving me code 43 (fuel supply system), the code would reset it self everytime I turned that car off then back on, And I could hear the humming of the fuel pump when it would kick on everytime I turn my car to the accessory position. Now when I do this I hear nothing, the car will still start, but it will shut right back off. I think I have narrowed it down to either the fuel pump or the main relay.

Additional Info:
  • The car still starts, just bogs it self out everytime
  • The fuel pump is a upgraded Walbro 255lph

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried starting the car with the key in the on position and taking a heavy guage wire directly from your battery ground to the starter? If it stays running after that then it's not the fuel pump.

Another thing to check is the ignition switch. They get a bad spot in them to where the car will start but as soon as you release the key, it will shut off right away.

This didn't work, the car still shut it self off.

Might have to check this if the main relay fix doesn't work.

Not since i got the car, but like I said I couldn't hear the fuel pump kick on, but I will replace it if all else fails.
