Default Pioneer DEH-5500

I have this cd player and I am having problems with it. After i've been playing a cd for a few minutes, I start to get static. Any ideas?

Does it do it with multiple cds? If so I've had the same problem. It usually happens after I've been playing a cd for a long time. Like a 4 hour road trip or something. I think the player itself just gets too hot.

It does do it with multiple cds. But i've ruled out overheating.

do you have it hooked up to an amp? did you check all connections in the back to make sure they are secure?

I had it professionally installed. The stock radio before did use an amp though.

you may have to bypass the stock amps if the place that installed you ran your speakers thro them with your aftermarket deck...its kinda a pain in the ass. my stock amps were blown and i had to do it. if you kno what your doin 30 minutes to fix it

It shouldn't have anything to do with how your amps are hooked up. It doesn't do it all the time. Just after a while right?
