Okay since my Ef is almost done, I am looking to get some rims for my Prius. I want to keep it light wieght and proably the same size for gas milage.
The lug pattern is 5 by 100 and a 45mm offset and they wiegh 14 lbs.

Now my question is how hard is it going to be to find wheels for this lug pattern and offset. I haven't put wheels on a prius before and I want to keep it Jdm.
Does anyone know of any links for performance parts for this car? Also I want to drop the height about 1.6 inches do they even make lowering springs for this car.

 

5x100 48mm offset is pretty common for Impreza/WRX, so 3mm will only be a small difference. Those are pretty tiny wheels if I remember correctly though, the only Suby wheels that may be close to your size are the stock late 90s wheels, which I think are 15s. Pretty much everything else is 16 and up.
It shouldn't be that hard to match the weight, the stock (OMG they're ugly) Prius wheels aren't anything special, and 14 pounds for a 15 isn't light.

Your JDM comment doesn't make any sense, I don't think there is any JDM style for the Prius. You can't make something JDM if no one in Japan modifies them or there isn't a different model there. I'm not sure why anyone would want to mod one in the first place, they're horribly boring to drive, but that's just me opinion. I'd rather start with a Geo Metro (or a fork in the eye), they're dynamically more exciting and they actually have steering feel. That's not what Prii are made for though, people don't drive them because they're fun or performance oriented cars.

 

I just wanted to make it look better and handle a little better nothing crazy.
It is a boring ass car though....but the gas milage is good.

The same size wheels won't give you anything except different looks, but better tires will affect handling obviously. Tires that grip more will also lower your fuel economy though.

dont those cars have sensors in the tires to tell you what the tire pressure is? can you switch them sensors to other rims?

 

Yes, you can sometimes switch TPMS sensors to other rims, some are removable and some aren't so you may have to buy an entire set for the new wheels.
