Nightmare Performance Shops!!!
Ok, this thread is to tell of places we trusted with of vehicles & they did more harm that good! For me the list is as follows:
Vertex Motorsports: in Tysons Corner, Va. Total idiots! So stupid that they forgot to put fluid back in my transfer case & fried it! They paid for it but still! Also did 80% of the work wrong that I paid for & lost or damaged many of my parts! They might be able to do good body work but don't take a care there with a working engine! I also just found out recently after taking off my turbo & manifold, that the ported exhaust manifold I had them install is where? The one I pulled off isn't ported!! WTF! Where is it? Did they drop it or damage it or what? I am in the middle of reporting it now. Also my car was broken into there & items that were not even visible were stolen. Can you say "inside job"?
Altered Atmosphere: in Gaithersburg, Md. Wow! Only took my car there because of the AWD dyno. Messed up my wiring harness some kind of bad. Claimed they tuned it on the dyno for "x" amount of time & charged me for it. I picked up my car & drove it less than one mile & it broke down. Now, mind you that the tranfer case locked up (thanks to Vertex) but if there was no fluid in there, how did they dyno it for "x" amount of hours? You feel me?
Last but not least...
RP Performance : in Manassas, Va. This little dude needs his ass kicked. Took it there because I met a guy with a nice ass RX7 that told me he took his car there for work in the past. Should have known it wasn't a good idea because the RX7 guy was fixing his car because something went wrong. Anyways, to make a long story short, I wanted this shop to install my new engine, tune my Haltech with the 3bar map sensor, 650 cc injectors & walbro 255 fuel pump. They were only able to install the engine, then claimed to need more money because they broke a head bolt or some shit! When I refused, they tried to keep my Haltech engine management system. When I picked up my car the Haltech & manual were not in there. I came back but no one was there. Luckily for me (not for them) one of the adjacent shops allowed me to go in there & get my dam Haltech equipment. That guy tried to keep my Haltech because I didn't give him more money. Not to mention my engine was out of timing & he claimed he spent 5 hours trying to set the timing.
I now do most of my own work, even if it means my car will be out of commission for a little while. Anyone else out there have to deal with some BS?

yeah altered atmosphere sucks ass,had them build me my first 4g63 engine, bottom end didnt last 500 miles and i was very easy on the car during the break in period.....took the car to some friends of mine that work for delta-v and mach5 and they said it looked like a bunch of retards with blindfolds built my motor...had to get a new bottom end cause the cylinder walls were scared up so bad they couldnt be bored out...ended up costing me about 7k.....fuckers
Not that I am saying it is cool (because it aint), but I see I am not the only one that was raped without lube(or transfer case fluid) by that place!
