Anyone ever been there? What did you think of it? Are there any public beaches near by? I'm looking to do a quick day trip to the beach, I like VA beach, but thats just to damn far away for a day trip...

 

I enjoyed it. My dad did contract work at Pax River for a few months when I was like 14, and we would go up on some weekends and visit.

 

Never even heard of it.

 

It's a pretty fun place. I've been a couple times. Bars with lots of hot bitches down by the water.

I don't remember there being any public beaches there but i havent been down there in a while.
theres also Chesapeake beach you could go to which has a small beach and palces to walk around n theres Colonial Beach too. point Lookout is about 40 min past Solomns Island but by the time you go that far you may as well have driven to Ocean City which is only 2.5hrs but pure white trash.

My uncle has a house there where we go for crabbing and fishing. Not too sure about beaches though.

 

i live about a half hour away from solomons... there are no public beaches actually on solomons island, or really any beaches at all for that sake. Colonial beach or chesapeake beach would be a better choice. There is actually a place near chesapeake beach that you can swim and look for sharks teeth. Solomons does have a decent night life on a good night. Im not big on the tiki bar but there are some decent places around. Keep in mind there is no ocean only the bay.
