Default LS Turbo V. LS/VTEC

Guys let me know what you think. I'm still contemplating what to do. Either way I look at it, i'm still spending about the same amount of $$. I'm looking on dumping $3,000 in my motor when I get the chance. Help me out. Thanks!!!

I'm in the process of building an LS/VTEC turbo....why not just go that route? Go ahead and build your LS/VTEC. But build it for real. Sleeve it, bore it, pistons, rods, balance and polish your crank....ya know...build that mofo. Then down the road build a turbo for it. If you're going to do an LS/VTEC I highly recommend building it right off the bat. Do it right. What motor do you have right now? I assume just a stockish LS.

i never understood doing a ls/vtec the "right" . the true right way would just do straight GSR turbo. you are gonna end up spending just as much, if not more money doing an LS/vtec the right way, then just doing gsr the right way. i always looked at LS/vtec as the cheaper route for someone wants VTEC. someone correct me if I wrong

well yeah i know that, the b16 head is better than the gsr head, but why not just do gsr block on the b16 head. the ls block wont last long with the high end power of a b16. the vtec blocks have oil squirters for the top end, the LS block needs that if it plans to last long, and i know you have to take it to a cmachine shop to get that done, which isnt cheap either.

LS block is a longer stroke...i.e. more torque. Like I said...build it right. If you do it right you shouldn't have any problem with reliability, but you have to do it right. Like I said, sleeves, pistons, etc etc. Building an LS/VTEC right isn't cheap. Aside from getting the block and crank I'm gonna end up spendin about 1800 bucks to build mine. And I already have a B16 to use for the rest of the parts. The biggest thing to watch out for with an LS/VTEC is over revving it. I'm still not sure how high I'm gonna rev mine.

I'm planning on putting down between 230-250 horses to the wheels. I would like the engine to rev close to 9000 easy also. Some people say LS Turbo is faster than LS/VTEC. Either way, i'm gonna build my engine strong and slap a turbo on later. How does that sound?
