well ur cams should have 1 marks on each side, then they should also have top witen on them, make sure top is facing up of course and put the marks where they are even with one another, but othe than that did the previous belt break?

you can take off your valve cover and there is two holes that are 5mm. if you turn your cam you can align them with the holes and put a punch in there to hold them str8 up. both cams. then turn your crank to align the mark with the blocks mark. then take off your dizzy cap and make sure your rotor is at #1 spark plug. once you have TDC you can put your timing belt on and bolt everything down. it will run like it was new.

Hey man What I dont get is that everything is top dead center. My cams, distributor cap (pointing to piston #1), and my crank pulley. But when I timed the car, its way off. YOU'LL have to turn the timing gun all the way just to see the crank mark and its not even lined up with the timing belt cover mark.

maybe your distributor is off. you can loosen the bolts and turn that to find your mark on the flywheel

...maybe the block has been decked before and/or the head has been milled.... or a non OEM spec/thickness headgasket was installed.
