New Car Guy- Cobra Owner
Hey guys, I'm new to the Richmond area for the summer. I'll be here until the end of August and this was the first Richmond specific sites I came across.
I'm looking for the scoop on local hangouts and good times to go to the track, not to mention where the tracks are!
If anyone has a track rental or can put me in touch with someone who does I'd be glad to get in on it.
Here are some pictures of my car. It's an '03 Cobra with a few bolt ons and a couple changes here and there. It's got 20k miles on it and put down 634/607 on pump gas on a Mustang Dyno with the break in tune. We're hoping to see 700rwhp on the same dyno after the break in is complete. I'll have the car down here next week.
Thanks!
Carlo
Pic of the motor being built. All work is done by myself.
And one of the race car in the background, 1970 Mustang Grande 357 Cleveland. That car will not be making it down to Richmond.

Depending on where you are in Richmond, there are two 1/4 strips near-by.
The first is Richmond Dragway, which is out in Sandston by the airport. The other strip is south of Richmond in Dinwiddie: Viginia Motorsports Park. VMP is by far the better track, but its a little more a drive to get there. Both venues run events every other (haven't been to one in a while) Friday night plus sometimes on Saturdays.
Welcome.
Not sure where you're from, but if you need a local shop for anything give my buddies Mark and/or Kevin a call @ Performance Autosport. (804) 784-8851.

Thanks guys. I'll be on the roads down here shortly, I'm already going through withdraw.
Also, thanks for the offer on the shop but I have my own back home. I do all of the work on the car except the shortblock. Besides, it's a Ford, I won't need any work LOL.
Frost, you can see some more info on my build on LS1Tech. We'll definitely be seeing each other on the road I've gotta be careful though, might need to stay on the track down here.
Where are the get togethers? Up north we meet up once a week at the same place. I'm down in the Chesterfield area.
