internal coolant leak
So im in New York for the HIN show this weekend when i noticed every time i get on the car and hit v-tec my car starts to over heat and coolant starts to overflow in the overflow tank. also when i turn the car off for awhile and go to start it it runs like on 2 or 3 cylinders till it pushes the coolant on the pisstons out. Would that be a bad head gasket or cracked block how can i tell? there is no oil in the colant and no coolant in the oil help please

Re: internal coolant leak
you can do a compression check. or you can some how pressurize the cylinders. i dont know how you do it but you can. if it is leaking coolant into the cylinders it should smell sweat out the exhaust. does your car spudder when its running?

Re: internal coolant leak
i think the only why to check and see if you have a cracked sleeve if you can smell fuel in the oil. im not sure. you can always take the engine out and see for your self or have a machine shop check. either way i think some kind of fluid should be mixing. i dont know, never had that problem.

i dont know if you can check this way or not but pull your plugs out and look down in side. or smell the tip of the plug and see if you smell coolant on it. im not to sure.

Re: internal coolant leak
the motor is a b20 vtec. im sure that im presurizing the coolant for the fact that when i rev it into vtec while im driving the overflow tank will fill up. but that only happens if i beat on the car if im just doing normal driving it dont do hat all it will do is when i shut the car off for a bit it will spudder when i turn it back on and i can smell coolant out of the exhuast till it all burns off
