drag racing ticket...
they didn't clock the cars but they said they appeared to be drag racing because they started acclerating together... they towed homeboys car and then gave the car back at his house saying they didn't have enough evidence to tow the car.

Even if you two were traveling under speed limit, but accelerating aggressively (side by side) then that is grounds for a reckless driving ticket (drag racing). He may have not clocked you guys, but you'll definitely be penalized some way or the other. In other words, you're fucked.
I got a Drag Racing ticket almost 3 years ago. Long story. But here's the basics. It was on Jefferson Ave, Saturday, and a little after noon. 3 lanes. Me (crx hybrid)..RX7 TurboII..and a older Mustang LX 5.0. There was a motorcycle cop that saw the whole thing. We all launched from the light. I got pulled about a mile or so down the road. I got thrown out of the car and placed in handcuffs. Nearly arrested. My car almost impounded. He kept looking at my car in shock. "How much money do you have invested in this car?! I went after you because you were the one in the lead." blah blah. The stang ended up turning off somewhere and the 7 did the same.
Anyway. I had no lawyer and I approached Harvell scared shitless. I was suprised to only get 30days work restricted and pay fines. I look at it now and realize it is much worse. Most insurance companies will not take me. I'm currently with USAA and pay a little over $2300 for 6months.
