some exhaust questions
these may sound like some pretty stupid and dumb questions to some of you, but no flaming please. i'm posting this to learn.
a. if you have a catback exhaust system, you don't need a catalytic converter, correct?
and
b. if you have a turbo, do you place the exhaust piping on the exhaust outlet of the turbo? if you have headers, what exactly is the order of parts from block to muffler?
me not having a turbo, or nice car, figured it would be best to ask you guys.
=]
EDIT: one more question, can the turbo's inlet be used as the intake for the engine, or can you somehow use a cold intake AND a turbo for air intake?
GAH i'm so confused! i hope somebody can straighten this out for me.

The whole point of a turbocharger is to force air into your engine, so in a sense, it is your intake system, thus eliminating the need for a cold air intake.
You would do well to google turbochargers and learn how they work.
Catback refers all the exhaust piping post catalytic converter to the muffler. So basically in an NA car its header(s), cat (or an illegal test pipe), then piping to the muffler.
yeah, i know how turbochargers work. the exhaust from the engine block goes into the turbocharger, then outlets down the exhaust piping. the exhaust air then spins the shaft, compressing the air on the other side, forcing it through the throttlebody, or intercooler then throttlebody. i was wondering if you could fit an intake onto the intake part of the turbo where you see the compression blades. and i was just wondering if a catback exhaust took place of the catalytic converter.
