Whats REALLY Worth It?
Aiight basically right now i have a b16 sir2, now what i want to know is what would be worth it, (mechanical wise, money wise,hp and torque ect ect)might also go turbo one day.
Should i just build up my b16a to the max and all that other goodie stuff, or should i build a b20z/vtec?
Basically, well a b20z/vtec always have more hp and torque than a b16a if thier both built the same and to the max. Id appreciate ur guys advise on what i should do

and also what you are going to use the car for. I have a B16 in my CRX right now and I was going to build that to handle around 300 hp on the streets and 350ish at the track, and still daily drive it. Now, I found s few good deals and I've decided to make it a mostly track car so I'm building an LS/VTEC. In my opinion The LS/VTEC will not be as reliable as the B16 would have been but I should be able to sqeeze a few more ponies out of it. Because the LS crank and block have a much longer stroke than the B16 you really can't rev it as high (all things being equal) as a similarly prepped B16. Where as I was planning on turning around 9200 rpm on the B16 I think I'm gonna back that down to around 8500 on the LS/VTEC...if that much. Basically, if this is your only car....or even your primary car....I'd just go with the B16. If it's just a toy to use on nice days and to take to the track...do the B20/VTEC

the straight b20 swap w/ a b16 tranny will be faster than a b16 in the 1/4 mile. if you want to go b20 get it sleeved. if you dont want to pay the money to get it sleeved, stay b16...

kool, so ill probably just build up my b16a since this well be my daily driver and just race on sat nites, so now what would u guys recommend me to use to fully build the motor top and bottom ends, i really like to stick with just one brand if possible, dont ask me why its just the way i am, i would like the motor to be cabable to handle roughly around 500hp also i plan on puttin around 15psi so what compression ratio and anything else u guys can think of should i do to get this motor ready

hahahaha...ok, you don't even know what you're building and you want it to be 500hp capable.....open up your checkbook Terry Jr. I hope you haven't lowered your car....cuz you're in for a bumpy ride

I am just going to state a few things. Building for all motor and building for turbo are 2 different things. So pick a route FI or NA then depending on the car its going in (light weight car B16 is nice) heavy car the b20 would be better due to torque.
But remember that b20's have weak sleeves . Thats all I feel like typing...lol
