Default boost questions

so im thinking of getting a car thats been boosted.
its a civic with a b20
• Drag cast iron manifold
• Borg warner 55 trim spec V t3t04e (bought new 2000 miles on it)
• Drag airfilter piping with K&N air filter
• Tial sport 38mm wastegate
• Handmade dumptube
• Jet hot coated Drag downpipe
• 3” catco hi flow catalytic converter (exhaust sounds awesome)
• 3” catback exhaust
• Inline Pro intercooler piping
• Inline pro blow off valve
• 12” slim fan on the radiator (wired to switch, will turn on when ECU wants, or manually all the time)
• Fast-Turbo feed line
• B&R AN weld on oil return line (VERY CLEAN)
• 8” Intercooler
• Tuned to 250whp / 220 tq on a dynapack at RLZ engineering in Charlotte North Carolina – very conservative tune, runs perfect and has much more potential (only at 10 pounds!)
• Uses a p28 ecu chipped out with datalogging
• Walbro 255 fuel pump
• NGK BKR7E spark plugs used
• RC 750cc injectors
• B&M fuel pressure regulator / fuel pressure gauge

i have never had ANY experience in dealing with turbos or boosted motors.
the b20 has all stock internals.
my question is how hard do you think it would be to maintain this cars engine.
i need reliability and no real headaches as im in college, broke. and short on time to fix things everyday.
he has done a great job putting it all together it still has ac/ps/ and cc

b20's are good for boost, if you leave it alone and dont drive like a jackass....along with performing regular maintenance, it will last a very long time.

how many miles does the engine have?

What he said, its up to you to take care of that motor. If it runs well now and u take care of it like, scheduled maintence ect. U should be okay. Its a Honda they can withstand shit u wouldn't expect.

Buying a used boosted car is generally a scary idea, especially since you do not know anything. Compression check and leakdown check immediately.

That being said, what the fuck are you thinking? Owning a boosted anything for the most part epically escalates the chance of failure of any OEM component. If you want something that will run 365 days a year, someone's old project is not a solid gamble.

I agree with Newbsauce. I wouldn't buy a used boosted car for reliability. This dude has probably ran the fuckin piss out of his car, why else would he boost it? Especially since you've never had any experience with boost at all.

i actually have a lot of information on the car, and have a great idea on how he runs. he doesnt drive like a maniac.
and i drive like a grandma, shift at 3k always.
its very well put together, thats the ONLY reason im considering it. the engine was bought with 40k and has warranty from jdm motorsports (pretty sure boost voids it.)
when he got it new gaskets and water pump were instaled. along with timing belt.
and seriously he has driven that car, with that setup on 10 lbs to new york from charlotte nc twice. he obviously thinks its reliable.

and i DO need a car that runs 24/7/365 with little or no problems. im in college, broke and have very little time to work on stuff.

or i could buy his kit, rebuild my b16 in my si. and boost it.
ive heard b20s internals are weaker than b16/b18

but how much do you think it would cost to build my b16? it has 120k miles and its stock interanl so theres no way id boost it right now
