Default zx9 help please!

hey guys i need some help. ive got a 01 zx9. i dont know much about bikes.

So here's what i've got. Cruising along and hit a bump and the headlight, and maybe back lights go out. they do not come back on until i hit one of the brakes. I do not have to jolt the bike but just have to barely touch the brake. A few times they have gone off for about a mile and nothing would get them to come back on.

Also, sometimes ill hop on the bike and go to start it and i will have nothing. like the battery is dead. then ill wait for a few seconds and it will work fine. I have replaced the bulbs and checked the sockets for the front lights and checked battery connections. any help or advice is greatly needed.

thanks guys

It sounds like a bad/dirty ground somewhere or a short in your wiring.

kawi uses a funky relay for the lighting, it only lets the lighting come on after the bike starts. might want to check that relay.

also check and make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight.

beyond that, sounds like a loose/intermitant connection somewhere.

i searched around today. made sure the terminals were cleaned and tight. checked for chaffed wires and could not find anything. anyone no where this relay is and where i can find one? this is getting really frustrating.

the bike has been droped. i forgot to add this in the original post. it was fliped over end at low speed while stunting by previous owner.

thanks for all the help guys. if anyone finds any parts for this bike please let me know. im going to start throwing parts at it soon.
